Call for Special Issue (spring 2025)

2023-08-25

The Swiss Journal of Sociocultural Anthropology (formerly TSANTSA) invites proposals for a special issue (open theme).

The special issue consists of 4 to 6 original research articles, and an introduction by the guest editors. All articles are subject to double-blind peer-review and published Open Access free of charge. The guest editors will work in collaboration with the editorial board in selecting, reviewing, and producing the special issue scheduled for publication in the spring of 2025.

Proposals for a special issue should have a unifying theme of anthropological relevance. It may be submitted as a Call for Papers or as a thematic overview along with a list of potential contributions. Diversity of gender, nationality, or academic position amongst the guest editors and/or authors is encouraged, as well as proposals containing articles in more than one of the journal’s publication languages.

The Swiss Journal of Sociocultural Anthropology is the journal of the Swiss Anthropological Association (SAA). It publishes ethnographically and theoretically grounded contributions on current issues and debates in social anthropology. As a tri-lingual journal with articles in English, French, and German, it seeks to strengthen the dialogue between different theoretical strands and scholarly traditions. The journal’s wide thematic scope encourages conversations across the discipline and between the various subfields of social and cultural anthropology.
