Call for Special Issue (spring/summer 2027)
The Swiss Journal of Sociocultural Anthropology invites proposals for a Special Issue. The journal’s Special Issue offers guest editors, in collaboration with the editorial board, an opportunity to unravel anthropological topics and tropes from various perspectives in a series of articles, each contributing to the in-depth discussion of a unifying theme. The Special Issue explores themes of relevance and sheds light on the current state of research in social and cultural anthropology.
The Special Issue consists of 4 to 6 articles and an introduction in English, French or German. Proposals that include articles in more than one of the journal’s publication languages are encouraged, as are proposals that incorporate an audio-visual contribution.
All manuscripts are subject to double-blind peer-review and articles are published Open Access free of charge. The journal also maintains an open call for article submissions, including audio-visual contributions.
Proposals may either take the form of a Call for Papers or consist of a short thematic outlinefollowed by a list of proposed contributions. Diversity of gender, nationality, or academic position amongst the guest editors and/or authors is encouraged.
You are invited to submit your Special Issue proposal by February 15 2026 to the following email address: info@journal-sa.ch
The Special Issue for Spring 2027 will be selected by the editorial team by March 1, 2026.
